Advisory Committees

Citizen involvement and participation occur through several community Advisory Committees which advise the TPO Governing Board.

Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee
The Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) reviews transportation plans and projects for non-motorized mobility and safety, provides a forum for the discussion of issues affecting bicyclists and pedestrians, and reports to the TPO Governing Board on bicycle and pedestrian-related issues

Citizens' Transportation Advisory Committee
The Citizens' Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC) ensures that proposed transportation projects are responsive to the community's perceived needs and goals. The CTAC evaluates the recommendations generated during the development of the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), and serves as a public forum to raise issues pertinent to the process.

Freight Transportation Advisory Committee
The Freight Transportation Advisory Committee (FTAC) is the industry’s advisory panel to the TPO Governing Board on freight movement and truck traffic needs. Aside from advising the TPO, the FTAC considers the types of improvements that should be made with regard to safety and freight efficiency in the county.

Transportation Aesthetics Review Committee
The Transportation Aesthetics Review Committee (TARC) is responsible for advising the TPO Governing Board on matters that pertain to high-visibility projects that could affect the outward appearance of the community.

Transportation Planning Technical Advisory Committee
Through a review process, the Transportation Planning Technical Advisory Committee (TPTAC) provides technical support to the Transportation Planning Council (TPC).
